Can you use flexible duct for your return air? - return air duct

My existing pipelines is the type of solid metal ducts stylesheet oldschool. The air box is too small. I have an age, the overall picture of the return, but want to know whether it was a FLEX I use to install it easily. I have a friend who said he thinks there are some that a spring or something they have to avoid collapse. I need to know the specific name of something that you can compare the prices. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  1. The other answers are correct, go to the hardware store and get a bag of flexible pipe. Cut through both layers with a razor, then the cable conduit with some dikes or pliers linesman. But it is a return line for air, the final answer is wrong, if the exhaust air only work on the reader who needs a minimum of 12! 10 or 8, the unit will be set and hang him, because more probs, best way to greatness, you need to determine use of the same size as the old channel is deleted.

  2. They have flexible air ducts, it's not like your hair flexible duct air duct, but as a flexible line, which is silent on your car, only bigger.

  3. Yes, it's easy as the tube and is available in all AC / Heating Company offers and most of Lowes / Home Depot. Comes in a variety of sizes from 4 inches to 12 years and older and packages in a box, like a snake in a box, so if you open it sprouts it. Keep it in the box until you need it. It is essentially a strong transparent film with a metal spiral spring, like an amulet, which prevent it from collapse. Then, typically an insulating sheath.

To use it, you need a metal collar, which is the size of the vagina. Figure 10 inches and 8 inches for a return. Use a circle cutter and cut a hole in the gearbox. Insert the metal collar, press the pedal tulip-shaped leaves hold on the neck. Attach the hose over the neck. Then, adjust, and drag an important link nylon rope () specially made for this purpose, to keep the hose into the neck. You can also attached to the beam cable. Use tape to stick your neck out of isolation.

At the other end, always a metal housing of appropriate size and return. Find the top floor of the scale or the other ConDay instead of the roof. Run the hose again. Cut a hole, you use a different collar to flexduct the source in the cut with wire cutters, cut the plastic wrap with scissors, cut the insulation, and are combined. Voila!
